A blog dedicated to inspiration for a future drag queen and occasional musings.

I just had a thought….

I’ve been listening to Scheiße by Lady Gaga on repeat for a while now while looking at Final Fantasy Confessions and a thought just occurred.  It would be cool if I could do a lipsync to this song while dressed as Yuna in her Songstress outfit.  The line “if you’re a strong female you don’t need permission” seems to suit her, so it seems sort of fitting.  I even imagined doing a lipsync to D Rock City (Anarchy) by Teddyloid while dressed as either Panty or Stocking.  I thought this was a cool idea.

So now I’m going to ramble on about clothes.  I think I’ll also use this blog as a place to put my thoughts on different things related to drag.

So I’m pondering what kind of things I would wear when in drag.  I don’t want to be like all these other drag queens who wear the most gaudy-looking gowns or just plain old regular clothes.  I keep thinking that I want to wear lolita clothing primarily, specifically gothic.  I feel like if I were to do that a lot of the other queens would look at me funny and there might be lolitas out there who would frown upon what I’m wearing/how I’m wearing it.  I’d probably wear really tall shoes with a chunky heel like Mana or tall boots like Kaya, corsets over my dress/blouse, etc. and of course I’d be wearing heavy makeup (what what drag queen doesn’t.)  But I guess what it all boils down to is that it’s all just clothes.  There are many lolitas who wear their dresses, blouses and skirts just as if they were wearing jeans and a t-shirt.  I probably wouldn’t wear only lolita since it might look awkward if I were to lipsync to a particular song and have my outfit look out of place with the song I’m performing.  My outfits would have to correspond with whatever song I’m doing since I’d want to have a particular concept for each performance.  But I would like to wear lolita 50% of the time though.  I’m pretty sure some of the outfits I’d put together would be lolita-inspired.  My biggest fashion icons aside form Mana and other Japanese people are Amelia Arsenic/Destroyx from Angelspit and Adora Batbrat.  Amelia’s outfits and makeup are so amazing and Adora looks so stylish.  I’d love to dress like them when not in lolita.  I think in drag I’d look pretty much gothic all the time, which I wouldn’t mind.  I love the goth aesthetic and I love heavy, androgynous makeup.  I’d love to dress Victorian, Cyber, Industrial, Cabaret, etc.  I’d even like to wear things that look a bit more “fashionable” and “glamorous”, but with a darker twist.  What I’d love would be to stand out next to all the other queens.

So I made this blog so that I can gather ideas and my inspirations regarding drag into one place.

But anyway I guess I should introduce myself.  My real name is of no importance to you but the name I’ve decided on for my drag alter ego is Cecilia Hargrave.  At this point I’m not sure what exactly Cecilia is or wants to be, but I want her to be many things.

I want her to be a doll, a robot, a demon, an angel, a fairy, an alien, a mutant, and a monster all at once.  Overall, I want her to be inhuman.  Neither male, nor female.  A supernatural creature from another realm.

At this point, Cecilia is in the drafting stages.  Her potential is yet to be realized.  I will wait for the day when I can proudly say she will be born and I look forward to how others receive her.
